Community Group’s Grant Fund
Information and application forms
Low Carbon Hub’s vibrant community groups are at the heart of our work to create a zero-carbon energy system and continue to be inspirational in tackling climate change. We are delighted to offer financial support through our Community Group Grants to support community groups in driving the energy transition.

Our Community Grants programme is one of the most effective and rewarding ways to share the community benefit generated from our renewable energy installations, like Ray Valley Solar and our rooftop solar projects, supporting projects that generate renewable energy, make buildings and homes more energy efficient, and create sustainable transport solutions.
Guidance notes
Please read our guidance notes before applying for funding. Here you’ll find information specifically related to the small and large grants programme.
Small grants
We have introduced some changes to our small grants to make the application and reporting process easier, including;
- We have increased the amount of the small grants, and each community group can apply for one small grant of up to £750 at any time during the financial year.
- We have also widened the scope of the small grants so that they can be used to fund any activity that will benefit your community group and help it to thrive.
- The application form is now a simple online Typeform.
- Once your project is completed, we just ask that you send us a short summary and photos or video.

Large grants
All Low Carbon Hub community groups can apply for a large grant of up to £5,000 once a year in a two-part competitive process. The large grants can be used to fund any activities that have a focus on energy, whether that’s reducing energy demand or increasing renewable energy generation.
The applications are reviewed and selected by the Impact Committee, consisting of members of Low Carbon Hub’s board of directors, and external partners from CAG Oxfordshire and the County Council.
